Many thanks to Healey Primary learners who joined us this week for a special Egyptian Art session. Learners made traditional Egyptian headwear and jewellery using a range of art techniques. Many thanks to Ms Rogerson for leading the session.

Rehearsals for our forthcoming drama, ‘Furi: A Viking Tale’ are now underway and tickets are on sale from the CEPA Office priced £3.00 (no concessions). Tickets are available in advance only direct from school or pupils may purchase them from the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school.

Learners who attended the recent CALL visit to Leeds City Museum and Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the past two weeks have each received a certificate for their learning efforts and two learning booklet winners were issued with great prizes. More details are available on our school website.

Letters inviting parents, families and friends to our Local History Tour around the Falinge area have been issued and are available directly from our school reception. The local history walk will also feature a photography session with support and guidance from our Art Photography staff. For more details, contact Mr De Courcey.

We say goodbye to our Drama trainee teacher, Ms Williams this week as she has spent the past two weeks with us and wish her well as she continues with her studies.

Year 7 boys were treated to a series of special workshops led by ‘Company Chameleon’ Dance Company this week. The workshops explored a range of dance techniques and learners left the sessions enthused about their experiences.

We are now in the early stages of planning our next cross-curricular project with primaries for next year, following the success of ‘Project Hugo’ this year. For more details of how to get involved please contact Ms Wystawnoha.

Learners from across all years are enjoying the visit to Barcelona this week and over half term. Ms Kowalski and Mr Walker are leading the week-long visit and learners return to school on Tuesday.
