Esco Williams makes appearance at local school

Date published: 21 May 2013

Upcoming singer/songwriter Esco Williams made a one off appearance at Beech House School, Rochdale as part of a small tour.

The high profile appearance comes after a huge buzz surrounding the Liverpool singer who started his career at age 17. The self professed "Soul Powered Nerd" has been part of the Sense of Sound Choir, has been part of the playlist on BBC Radio 1Xtra, FLAVA and AKA TV as well as being voted as one of MTV’s top 20 Brand New 2012 artists.

The appearance made on 15 May was part of a schools tour in which Esco is promoting a positive message on behalf of the Anthony Walker Foundation in which he is an ambassador. The foundation aims to promote equality and diversity in schools across the UK following a racially motivated attack leading to the tragic death of 18 year old Anthony in 2005.

Talking of the performance, a school spokesman said: “Esco’s pulsating form and captivating presence is reminiscent of Aloe Blacc, Al Green, Music Soulchild and Cee-Lo Green, yet his energy and performance is that of a rock star with maximum swagger.”
