Rochdale artist exhibiting at Prom Art

Date published: 21 May 2013

Susan Brophy, an artist from Rochdale, will be exhibiting at the northwest’s biggest open-air arts and crafts fair, Prom Art, taking place on Grange-over-Sands promenade.

Susan will be showing off her gemstone jewellery and textiles at the event again this season, having displayed her wares at Prom Art before.

Organiser Robert Leach says: “We are delighted to have Susan return to Prom Art this year. We hope that many visitors will stop to peruse and buy her items and make her attendance at Prom Art a very pleasurable and worthwhile experience”.

Over 90 different arts and crafts artisans in total will be exhibiting their unique, quirky and breathtaking works at Prom Art. There will also be seven students from each of Furness College and Kendal College of Art and Design displaying their talents on the prom.

The free-of-charge event starts at 9.30am on Sunday 26 May and ends at 4pm. Stalls stretch further than ever before along the Edwardian promenade of the stylish and peaceful resort this year, allowing visitors to stroll right past the old Lido enjoying inspirational talent all the way. Items are available for purchase, but many artists will also take commissions.

Visitors can travel to Grange by car or by rail, with Northern Rail services running through to Grange railway station, just a short walk from the promenade.
