Sport success for St Cuthbert's

Date published: 15 May 2013

The Year 9 Boys Rugby team were crowned Rochdale Schools Champions at Spotland Stadium on Sunday. ‘Man of the Match’ went to Dominic McDonnell.

The Rounders season began with great success against St Anne’s academy, with all of the St Cuthbert’s teams coming away with a win. The Year 10 girls were elated as they lifted the Catholic Cup title for the 3rd year in a row. Year 11’s also performed superbly at the GM Catholic Cup, winning 2 of their 3 matches to finish runners up.

St Cuthbert’s Year 11 Student Council Representatives had their celebration breakfast last week. They received certificates and thanks for being a council member and we wish then every success in the future.

There will be a twilight English revision session on Monday 3 June, 3.30 – 6.30 with an evening meal being provided. Please see Mrs Williamson for details. Revision breakfasts have been taking place in the RE department with world religions: Judaism, Islam and Hinduism being studied during half term.

This week’s theme was Our Lady and our Enterprise capability was Problem Solving. This half-term’s focus for Year 7 is also Problem Solving. Our Saint of the Week this week was Saint Matthias.

Form 7.4 were this week’s Attendance Challenge winners with 99%.

And finally, it is with immense gratitude to all who have contributed, that we announce our total sum raised from Lenten charities this year - £3410! £1280 will go to Francis House and £2130 will go to Caritas. Thank you very much to every pupil, teacher and parent who has helped. In Christ We Serve.
