Students battle it out in their own 2013 Sports Olympiad

Date published: 16 May 2013

Hopwood Hall College’s Uniformed Public Services (UPS) department recently held its annual Sports Olympiad. The competition, which is currently in its sixth year, was supported by the colleges in the North West and surrounding regions.

Winning trophies were presented by representatives from the Police, Fire Service and the Army alongside Hopwood Hall College Deputy Principal John Spindler.

The day ended on a high note for Hopwood Hall College, as they won the Overall College Winners Trophy (sponsored by the Royal Air Force) for the second year running.

Terry Morley, Centre Director for UPS and Sport at Hopwood Hall College, summed up the day by saying: “The event has always been a great success. Everyone had a great time and competitors displayed an excellent level of sportsmanship throughout.

"It’s also an excellent way to reward our students and the students from other Uniformed Public Services courses for all their hard efforts they have made throughout the year.

"I’d like to say thank you to all those who have supported the College in this event.”
