Attendance and punctuality

Attendance
As a school we regard regular attendance as essential for pupil progress. We have to record on the register the reason for every absence. If you do not provide an explanation, then these days are marked as unauthorised absences which could result in a visit by the Education Welfare Officer.

Punctuality
School starts at 8.50am for registration and lessons begin at 9am. When children arrive after this time, not only does it disrupt the other children but causes the late child to miss part of the lesson which could result in them falling behind in their work.

Appointments
Appointment cards MUST be shown before children can be taken out of school. Turning up at the school without prior notice may result in you not being allowed to take children out of class.

Time off for holidays
Please note that it is illegal to take children out of school during term time.
Children missing school could be liable to court action.
