Eight-year-old heartbroken after Shih Tzu puppy stolen

Date published: 08 May 2013

Eight-year-old Izzy Duffy is heartbroken after her 14-week-old Shih Tzu puppy was stolen during a burglary at her home in Tonacliffe Road, Whitworth on Monday (6 May) night.

Izzy's father Chris said: "Izzy is absolutely heartbroken, she saved for the puppy.

We just want the puppy returned; it’s quite unusual as it black and white.

Also taken was a BMW car, phones, video recorder, laptop, wallet and cash.

Police say a car has been found abandoned at the Alpine Pub on Whitworth Road.

A  spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward and contact the police.

"Understandably, the victims are keen to be united with their property, especially the little puppy.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log reference LC-20130507-0165.”
