Hundreds of cannabis plants discovered in police raid

Over 500 cannabis plants were discovered by police an address on Rooley Moor Road. The house had been significantly modified to facilitate the growing of cannabis.
Before officers could start dismantling the cannabis set-up, the electricity supply had to be made safe. Following the make safe officers have spent the day taking apart the set-up.
Sample plants have been seized and the remaining plants will be destroyed.
The cannabis grow was close to harvest, and is now closed for business.
A spokesman said: "Any residents concerned about the potent stench need not worry, it should fade shortly. Unfortunately the stench has now been transferred to the station!
In the past week police in Rochdale have removed well over £1million worth of Class A and B drugs from circulation.
