Three-year-old boy critical following collision

A three-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a collision in Heywood.
Shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday 1 May 2013, police were called to Queens Park Road following reports of a collision.
Officers attended and found that the boy had been in collision with a Volkswagen Up.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury where his condition is described as being critical.
Queens Park Road has been closed between the junctions of Bury and Rochdale Old Road and Heywood Hall Road.
The closure is likely to remain in place for some time and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
