Metrolink extension – temporary closure of Oldham Road

From today, Wednesday 1 May, as part of the works to construct the Rochdale town centre Metrolink extension, contractors will be carrying out resurfacing works on Oldham Road, between the junction with Drake Street and the junction with Milnrow Road. To enable these works to take place, this section of Oldham Road will be closed to traffic between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Local traffic diversions will be clearly signposted during these closures.
Pedestrian access along Oldham Road will be maintained at all times.
A spokesman said: "These works have been discussed with and approved by your local authority.
"Thank you for your patience while we build your new Metrolink line."
