Coroner service re-locates to Heywood
Date published: 30 April 2013
The Coroner service for Rochdale has re-located to the Phoenix Centre in Heywood.
The new home includes facilities for jury inquests, private meeting rooms and a comfortable, modern reception area.
HM Coroner Simon Nelson said: “Our new base is more spacious and accessible with features to help us to better meet the needs of the bereaved at a distressing time in their lives. While for the vast majority of people, a visit to the coroner's court is an experience they find very difficult, we can at least try to make things as comfortable as possible.”
Telegraph House, the original base for the Coroners service, will be demolished next year.
