RBH launches 2013 “In Bloom” garden competition

Date published: 29 April 2013

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) tenants and leaseholders are once again being given the opportunity to flaunt their flowers in the search for the best garden in the Borough.

The RBH “In Bloom” garden competition launched this week, and prizes are being awarded for the best gardens in across local neighbourhoods.

Ruth Sillence, RBH Communities First Co-ordinator, said: “This is a great way for tenants and leaseholders to showcase their hard work and get involved in an exciting event that brings people together from all walks of life”

“We had a record number of entries last year and the competition was very strong, so now is the time to spring clean your garden after the snowfalls, spruce up your garden boxes or brightens up a communal area with some colourful flowers and plants.”

All entrants will be invited to a presentation in September and there will be trophies and prizes awarded to the winners.

“There’s a category to suit everyone,” added Ruth. “So, get in touch and we will send you an entry form.”

The categories are:

• Tenants’ Gardens - Area Class
• Owner Occupier Class
• Retired Persons’ Class
• The Balcony/patio Class
• Communal Areas
• Championship Class

The closing date for entries is Friday 28 June 2013 and the judging will take place on the week commencing the 1 July.

For a competition entry form tenants should visit the RBH website at www.rbh.org.uk, contact Ruth Sillence on 01706 273977 or send an email to ruth.sillence@rbh.org.uk
