Fire on Molesworth Street

A two-storey commercial building on Molesworth Street, Rochdale is on fire this afternoon (Friday 26 April).

People are advised to avoid the area and nearby roads have been closed while firefighters deal with the incident.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We got a call at 3.54pm. We originally sent two fire engines but they asked for more support so we sent another and an aerial appliance.

“It is a fire involving a two-storey commercial building on Molesworth Street - the roof space is alight and we are currently fighting the fire using the hose reel.

“It is an ongoing incident - we have not had any other calls but we are keeping our eye on it.”
