Siddal Moor Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award
Date published: 27 April 2013
A group of Siddal Moor students recently completed their Silver Award for the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
This award involves planning, training for and doing a 3 day (2 nights) expedition.
All weather conditions were encountered on the weekend in and around the Edale Valley but the group all returned back safe and sound apart from a few blisters and some very tired students.
Staff who accompanied the students commented on the determination of the pupils to succeed and the planning for the whole trip was excellent.
Mr. Nalborczyk, one of the teachers who accompanied the students commented that they were a hardy bunch, battling against the ferocious 50mph winds and appalling weather conditions and smiling while doing it.
