Welcome back to all our youngsters, parents and carers as we start the summer term! This term will be an exciting one with lots of exciting activities planned across the key stages. It will certainly be busy with one of the priorities being the successful transition of Year 6 pupils to Redwood and our pupils preparing for the move to possibly a different class or key stage in September! You will be kept updated on the developments!

6th Form Mock Interviews - Well done to those 6th form students who took part in the mock interview programme. As ever these youngsters rose to the challenge fantastically well and I know that the members of the local business and commerce who carried out the interviews were very impressed with the attitude and presentation skills of those taking part!

Virtual Tour of Redwood School
We saw the start of an exciting project involving key stage 4 ICT groups working with staff from the CLC to create a Virtual Tour of the school for our website! The project will take place during this term and once completed, all website visitors to Redwood will get be able to access a virtual tour of the school and our facilities!

Playground to Podium - Congratulations to those students from key stages 3 and 4 who represented the school at the P2P event at Kingsway Park in football. As ever those involved were great ambassadors for the school and had a very enjoyable time! Well done!

Bag 2 School - The collection of Bag 2 school has raised approximately £200. Thank you for your support!

Key Stage 3 news
7 Red went out on a visit to St Clements to see the Church in Easter Bloom. Everyone enjoyed a drink and biscuit with the community group. A selection of pupils attended a P2P Sports event at Kingsway School where they took part in handball, target practice and football, it was a fantastic event! Science - our topic is Materials and students are looking forward to investigating a range of materials, their uses, properties and how they can be changed either reversibly or irreversibly. Donations of objects made from wood, clay, metal, for example ornaments would be very welcome. The Lilac room have begun to build their own castle, any pictures taken during family holidays at a castle would be greatly appreciated.

8/9 Blue are doing a brand new topic called ‘Designer Lights’.

7 Green started their topic on recycling and have been researching facts!

Key Stage 4 are currently in poll position in the Boccia Dinner Time League! Well done to all our students who have taken part! George has been following an exercise routine which has been implemented and facilitated by SEB staff and supported by the Sports Team. Well done George.

SSC went to the farm to look at the pigs. They are called, Frank, Spotty and Thomas-James. Daniel loved the pigs.

Staff member Jacqui Stanners is now in serious training for the Trans Pennine Challenge, a 100km/62mile walk in 24hrs, she has been out in the sun, wind, rain, hail & snow! The walk will take place 22-23 June. Jacqui will be raising money for Cancer research. If you would like to support please send donations to the school reception in an envelope marked ‘Jacqui Stanners Trans Pennine Challenge’. THANK YOU for your support!

6th form news
This term we have a new student who has joined us in the 2nd Year Jade. She has moved into the area from Blackpool. So far Jade has settled into the 6th Form routine really well and has already made a number of new friends.
