Health centre refurbished to improve services

Date published: 22 April 2013

Littleborough's health centre has undergone a major refurbishment, which is now complete.

To celebrate, an open day is being held to give the public an opportunity to view the transformation into a modern healthcare facility. The event takes place at the Featherstall Road centre on Saturday 27 April, between 11am and 3pm.

At the opening people will be able to find out more about health and community services offered at the centre.

The £1 million refurbishment includes a new roof, windows and doors and improved access to the entrance of the building, resulting in a more spacious centre with plenty of seating for patients.

Littleborough Health Centre Manager, Christine Shephard, said: “The refurbishment means we can provide excellent facilities for patients within a more modern healthcare setting.

“It’s exciting to see the change here and I’d encourage the local community to come down and see for themselves.”

In addition to the revamp, an artwork competition with the theme of ‘going to the health centre’ was held for children from local schools.

Two winning entries will be enlarged and displayed in the health centre from May.

The event takes place at the Featherstall Road centre on Saturday 27 April, between 11am and 3pm.
