Murderer with Rochdale connections absconded from prison

A 43-year-old murderer has been arrested after absconding from an open prison in Derbyshire.
Darran Heywood, from Rochdale, was caught by Greater Manchester Police yesterday (Monday 15 April).
Derbyshire Police said Darran Heywood, who also uses the name Hayward, had failed to return to HMP Sudbury on Saturday.
A police spokesman said Heywood, aged 43, was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in May 1999 at Manchester Crown Court.
