RBH junior wardens celebrate different cultures

Date published: 13 April 2013

RBH Junior Wardens from across the Borough gathered in Falinge for a three cultures event.

The junior wardens have been learning about other cultures for their "respect" badge.

The Barleyfield and Alkrington wardens in Middleton have been learning about China, the Falinge wardens about Portugal, and the Kirkholt wardens about India and Pakistan.

The warden groups then gathered in Hebron Church in Falinge to demonstrate what they had learned and put on entertainment for friends, family and the local community.

Guests including the Mayor of Rochdale, Cllr Jim Gartside, and the Leader of the Council Cllr Colin Lambert, were entertained by dancing and a drumming workshop.

RBH Community Action Worker, Khalida Crossley, said: “I’m very proud of our junior wardens who have worked hard ahead of the event, and put on an excellent show for their family, friends and guests.”
