Geography students get a taste of university life

Date published: 30 March 2013

A level geography students at Rochdale Sixth Form College recently got a taste of university life, by attending a Manchester Geographical Association lecture at the University of Manchester.

The Emeritus Professor of geography Michael Bradford spoke about important issues, including the regeneration of Manchester over the past 30 years.

Rochdale Sixth Form College geography teacher Graeme Dymond comments: “The seminar proved to be an all-round success.

"As well as helping students to understand the topics we’re currently learning about within the A level syllabus, it also really helped them visualise what it’d be like to study geography at university.

"Many students are now planning to join the Manchester Geographical Association, so it’s great to see their interest in the topic has been fuelled off the back of this event.”
