Hamer Community School

Date published: 28 March 2013

On Thursday 27 March our children in Year 3 and 4 enjoyed their IPC Exit Point at Ashworth Valley. Despite the snow the children enjoyed a number of exciting learning opportunities outside including grass sledging. Thank you to the staff in Year 3 and 4 for organising the hands on learning experience for the children.

As you know we hold parent consultations 3 times a year (once a term) to allow discussions about the children’s progress against their targets. We would like to thank all who spent the time with the teachers this week. In addition to these 3 formal opportunities, please note that staff will always make time should anyone want to discuss any aspect of the children’s learning in between. Opportunities to come into school and celebrate the children’s’ achievements with them are also planned in through, for example, IPC entry and exit points.

As you know Miss Kenworthy will be leaving the school due to a promotion after 5 years at Hamer. Miss Shepherd would like to say thank you to Miss Kenworthy on behalf of the school for all her hard work and the impact her teaching has had on learning and we would also all like to wish Miss Kenworthy good luck in her new job.

In addition, Mrs Herring the Headteacher of Springside School will also be leaving and Miss Shepherd would like to thank Mrs Herring for her commitment to working collaboratively with Hamer School since the co-located site opened in 2007 and we all wish her well with her new ventures.

There will be a Health Trainer and a Keep Fit session at the Coffee Morning on Thursday 18 April at 9am in the Family room. Parents are invited in to come and join in the fun and also have their weight and blood pressure checked.
