Pupils’ frescoes illustrate school’s past, present and future

Date published: 28 March 2013

Construction hoardings surrounding Falinge Park High School have been turned into artistic frescoes by art students who wanted to brighten up their new school’s construction site.

Three murals illustrating the school’s past, present and future buildings were created by year eight art pupils to document the school’s evolution over time.

Construction work started in August 2012 and since then students have wanted to give the hoardings a makeover.

Six pupils set about creating the murals using materials donated by Carillion, the contracted construction company for this development.

Headteacher Robin Lonsdale said: “The murals illustrate the school’s transformation throughout the decades from traditional architecture to a modern, sustainable construction and design that will serve the community well for future generations.”
