Norden by-election set for 25 April

Date published: 28 March 2013

Voters in the Norden ward of Rochdale are set to go to the polls next month to elect their new councillor.

A by-election on Thursday 25 April has been called following the death of Councillor Ann Metcalfe who passed away last month.

Polling cards will start to be delivered this weekend and electors have until 5pm on Wednesday 10 April to register at their address in order to vote in the election or request a postal vote.

The deadline for proxy applications is 5pm on Wednesday 17 April.

Postal votes will be despatched from the town hall on Friday 12 April and if electors haven’t received their postal pack by Friday 19 April, they can request a replacement. Postal packs must be returned by 10pm on election day and can be returned to Rochdale Town Hall or any polling station within the ward.

The polling stations will be Caldershaw Primary School, Norden Old Library, St Paul’s Parish Hall and Jericho Methodist Church.
