Springhill Hospice Spring Fair
Date published: 28 March 2013
It may have been snowing outside, but whilst the organisers of the annual Springhill Hospice Spring Fair couldn't count on the weather, they could count on their supporters who came despite the weather.
Over 500 people attended and the fair raised £6,300 improving on last year’s total by over £1,000.
Alison McGuigan, Fundraising Lead said: “When the snow started to fall, we had a bit of a panic.
"Setting up on Saturday was a nightmare as people couldn’t get here, but thankfully we had started the set up on the Friday.”
“A huge thank you to everybody who donated items for us to sell, who helped us with setting up and on the day, and to everybody who braved the bad weather to come and support us.
"We rely so heavily on our fairs; it was heartening to see that the numbers were not too badly affected.”
