Saint Cuthbert High School
Year groups have been preparing for Easter with Masses and other reflections during this week. Every child was invited to take a blessed palm to keep in their home.
Students from all year groups have been busy organising fundraising events for our Lenten charities. Sponsored events and activities have been taking place all during Lent and we will be able to inform you of the total raised for Caritas as soon as we return after Easter. Thank you for your continued support with all our charitable events.
All year groups celebrated their Rewards Assemblies this week, with individuals being rewarded for 100% attendance, exemplary behaviour and effort as well as being entered into the grand draw for anyone awarded Pupil of the Week since Christmas. Thank you to each and every student who has helped to make this term a busy, work-centred time.
Year 7 news - Attendance Challenge - Well done to form 7.4 with a weekly attendance of 99%. The form with the best attendance at the end of term will celebrate with breakfast together. Congratulations to Cody Oddy, the winner of the achievement point draw. The Year 7 Big Fun Run has had to be postponed until after Easter due to inclement weather. It is now planned for Monday 15 April. PE Kits must be worn. Pupils may bring in fancy hats, wigs, tu-tus etc, but please note face paint cannot be used. Please do your best to sponsor your child, all money raised will be donated to Francis House.
This week’s themes were Lent and The Annunciation. Our Enterprise capability was
Initiative and this half-term’s focus for Year 7 is creativity and innovation.
May we take this opportunity to wish everyone in our school and local community a very happy and holy Easter. School reopens on Thursday 11 April.
