Healey School Handbell Group awarded 1st place honours

Date published: 13 March 2013

The Music Festival has almost finished for us, however the Handbell Group who were awarded 1st place honours last Saturday have so impressed one member of the audience that they have been invited to perform again next Sunday at Christ Church Healey. Well done to the children and Miss Burrows who has worked alongside Mrs Whitworth bring this new musical dimension into Healey.

Next week will be dominated by adding the finishing touches to the HUGO performance taking place at Carnforth Station on Saturday 23 March. This involves the Year 5 children. The final show at Carnforth will be the culmination of a major collaborative project with Falinge park High School and other local primary schools.

Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award last week on our special World Book Celebration Day.

Reception: Mwiza Kasase
Year 1: Harrison Henry
Year 2: Riley Greenwood
Year 3: Ved Keshe
Year 4: Poppy Carty
Year 5: Macey Kilshaw
Year 6: Amelia Cook

Attendance was good again, although it is several weeks since we had a class with 100%. Best class was Year 3 with almost 99% and overall school was 96%.

Finally a thank you for supporting World Book Day and the Book Bring & Buy. The Rights Respecting Group managed the non-uniform day with Mrs Denham and raised £134 which will be added to the money raised for Comic Relief sale of Red Noses.
