Community First funding for community groups in Central and Spotland & Falinge wards is now open

Funding from the second year of the national Community First programme is now available to community groups within the Central and Spotland & Falinge wards of Rochdale.

These wards are amongst of 600 areas across the country that is in receipt of Community First funding.

Funding for groups in Central wards is available for projects that meet agreed priorities for Central ward. These are:

 

  • Raise aspirations and support the improvement of skills, employment and enterprise 
  • Build local capacity and confidence to enable people of all ages to do more for themselves
  • Support cohesion, intergenerational understanding and improve community safety within the ward
  • Promote inclusion, health & wellbeing linked to the 5 ways to wellbeing 
  • Improve the quality of our environment in particular tackle route causes to the litter and detritus within the ward

Funding for groups in Spotland & Falinge ward is available for projects that meet agreed priorities for Spotland & Falinge ward.

These are:

 

  • Clean: Work with local people to achieve a high standard of cleanliness in our area 
  • Green: Develop community projects to increase and improve our green spaces 
  • Communities: Increase pride by developing a sense of belonging and positive shared identity with our area
  • Engagement: encourage residents and community groups to get involved in projects to meet local needs

 

Overall Aim: 

To work together to make Spotland and Falinge a great place to live, work and play.
