Students interview a Paralympian & an Olympian

Date published: 08 March 2013

Two students from Redwood Secondary School managed to obtain a great ‘scoop’ yesterday (Thursday 7 March) after interviewing Rachael Latham a Paralympic Swimmer and Channel 4 presenter.

Rachael was promoting ‘Projectability – Step into Sport’ which aims to develop leadership skills in young disabled people, giving them the skills and confidence to lead in sport, the aspiration to volunteer in sport and to raise the awareness of the opportunities available to them.

The two students also managed to interview Olympian Athlete Holly Bleasdale who had recently returned to the UK after winning Gold in the European Championships in Pole vault.

Kyle and Gary who are members of Redwood’s BBC School Reports team interviewed both celebrities using a set of questions chosen by students across the school.

The staff at Redwood are incredibly proud of the professional manner in which the interview was conducted and the enthusiasm that students are showing whilst engaging in the School Reports project and ‘Projectability’.
