Father threatened at knife point in front of his daughter

A father was threatened at knife point in front of his daughter in Heywood.

It happened between 4.30pm and 5.10pm on Tuesday 26 February 2013 when two men broke into a house on Cartridge Street.

One of the offenders threatened the 34-year-old victim with a knife while his three-year old daughter was in the room.

He sat on the settee guarding her while his assailant put the knife to his throat and demanded to know where the weed was.

The victim said he did not know what he was talking about.

The second man went upstairs and shouted that there was nothing there and both men ran out of the house taking the victim’s Nokia phone with them.

The first man is described as white, aged between 20 and 25, he was around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with short shaved light brown hair and dark freckles on his face.

He wore blue jeans and a black cotton hooded top with the hood pulled up.

The second man is described as white, aged between 20 and 25, he was around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build and short shaved light brown hair.

He wore a cream hooded top. Both men spoke with eastern European accents.

Detective Constable Nick Price from Rochdale CID, said: “This man was left terrified after two offenders broke into his house while he was looking after his daughter.

“They forced their way into a family’s home looking for drugs that were not there. We think this was a case of mistaken identity.

“Thankfully, no-one was injured. We are determined to identify these individuals and are asking for anyone who may have seen these men before the break-in, or who may have seen a car speeding off afterwards, to get in touch with us.

“Your information could be vital to our investigation so please call us if you saw, heard or know anything.”
