£37,000 Community Pot on offer in the RBH "Dragon's Den"

Date published: 01 March 2013

Local residents in seven neighbourhoods across Rochdale who want to improve their local community and also fancy themselves as the next Theo Paphitis or Deborah Meaden can vote for their favourite community project.

RBH is committed to working with tenants and devising action plans with the aim of making neighbourhoods better places to live. Over £37000 of funding has been allocated for community projects and local residents who attend the "Our Choice" event will choose which initiatives will receive a share of the pot.

Residents from Greave, Smallbridge, Back O’th’ Moss, Wood Street, The Cray, Kirkholt and Lower Falinge can attend to vote for their preferred projects. Each group applying for funding will enter the RBH "Dragon's Den" for a short presentation, and then residents will be asked to vote. The results will be given on the day.

Karen Salisbury, RBH Engagement Officer, said: "This is a great opportunity for local residents to get involved and make a real difference in their community"

Local tenants and residents who want to get involved can go on the day. For more information, contact the RBH Engagement Team on 01706 273898 or engage@rbh.org.uk.

The event follows an initial "Our Choice" event held in Alkrington in November 2012. RBH is committed to ensuring that residents across the borough have their chance to enter the "Dragon's Den" in the near future.

Go to Hopwood Hall College's Rochdale Campus on Saturday 9 March at 1.00pm to vote for your favourite community project.
