Big Pedal
The charity Sustrans is encouraging kids, parents and teachers to leave the car at home and get on their bikes and scooters for the school run. The three-week 'The Big Pedal' campaign starts tomorrow and aims to get families to be more active as well as save fuel.

Following this, we will be starting Bike-It every Thursday. Children will receive a raffle ticket every time they come on their bike and there will be a raffle at the end of the year for a new bicycle.

Journalist
On Friday there is a Journalist coming into school from down South. He has heard all about our animals and is doing a case study on the interaction between our pupils and the animals.

PTA
Our next meeting is next Monday 4 March at 6.30pm.

World Book Day
This year’s World Book Day is next Thursday, 7 March. Children will receive a £1 book token. The staff will be reading their favourite stories to the children throughout the day.

Cookathon
This year’s Cookathon is next Thursday, 7 March when the whole school will be cooking at some point throughout the day. Parents, grandparents and members of the community are welcome to come along and cook with the children. We want to get as many people as possible taking part as last year we had a fantastic response and won £50 for school. Please let school know if you would like to participate – we are hoping it will be as successful this year.

Lent
Children have received a booklet and they will be taught the significance of Lent in their lessons.

Red Nose Day and Fair-Trade Fortnight
The School Council are now going round school daily selling red noses for £1. They are also arranging extra fund raising events and will be combining this with Fair-Trade Fortnight and fundraising for this worthy cause.
