Calling all budding animators

Manchester University is running its annual competition for anyone who likes to create animations. They want school pupils aged between 7- 19 to create a one minute animation on the topic of your choice. You can create your animations using any of the following programs: Alice, Blender, Scratch, Flash, Serif DrawPlus, Swish Max 4, and KoolMoves. If you would like to have a go and get involved, please see Miss McGiffen in Room 113 for more details on how to enter. Submission Deadline: 22 March 2013. All entrants will receive certificates, and you could win fantastic prizes like laptops, game devices and media players.

Thank you to staff and parents/carers who attended the Year 10 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 27 February. Year 11 Parents’ Evening will be held on Thursday 7 March, 6:00 – 9:00pm

All pupils MUST have an apron for each practical Food Technology lesson. Pupils who turn up to their practical lessons without an apron will receive a red slip. If this continues letters will be sent home. It is very important to be prepared for all practical lessons and part of this is to have an apron. Pupils can still buy aprons from the Food Technology Department for £5 or bring one from home.

A reminder to all Mowtivators’ members – gardening club will continue every Monday 3 -4pm. We are in the process of making Mother’s Day Pots.

Year 9 Science booster classes are held every Monday 2:50pm-3:50pm up to and including Monday 11th March in preparation for the Science SATS exam on Tuesday 12 March. Please ensure you attend the sessions if you returned your permission slip.

Sainsbury have launched their Active Kids 2013 campaign. A collection box is in the LRC for anyone wishing to donate vouchers.

Any pupils, who have lost school uniform, please see Mrs Parkinson in P.E. Please ensure that school clothing has the pupil’s name clearly printed on them, so they can easily be identified. Thank you.
