Welcome back to everyone after what we hope was a relaxing and enjoyable half term break.

Parents’ Evening for parents/carers of Year 11 students will take place on Monday 4 March from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. All students should now have received appointment times, however if you have not yet confirmed your appointment time please contact the school office on 01706 645522.

Well done to the Year 7 basketball team on becoming Rochdale Champions by beating St Cuthbert’s and Holy Family in the recent Rochdale Schools’ Basketball Tournament. Congratulations to Abdul Akram, Hayden Lewis, Marcus Welsby, Nelson McKeown, Kane Whitelock, Dillan Easton, Jordan Parkhill, Deen Imran and Jack Turner. We would also like to thank the year 11 students who did an excellent job running the score board and refereeing games.

Congratulations to the Year 8 and 9 girls’ football team who are now Rochdale Champions. They played three matches beating St Cuthbert’s and Falinge, and narrowly losing to Hollingworth. All of the teams involved won 2 games and lost 1 so it went down to the last game where we needed a 9 goal difference and we got 11. Well done to Sophie Charlton (Captain), Mio Griffiths, Moet Griffiths, Alex Bagshaw, Georgina Butterworth, Megan Saville, Anna Opincane and Rebecca Marshall.

We would like to congratulate Judith Yung and Georgie Terry on their fourth place finish in the Masterchef Competition held by Bury College.

Good luck to all of our students who are participating in the Rochdale Festival of Performing Arts, which takes place this week.

On Saturday 2 March, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award students will be taking part in a Training Day – we wish them luck and look forward to seeing how they get on.
