The ‘live’ ten-minute News programme broadcast from the school’s state-of-the-art 4D hall to an invited audience
Ten budding reporters took part in a Practice News Day for BBC School Report.
Chairing editorial meetings, seeking out staff and learners’ views on the hot topics of the day and writing to a deadline were just some of the activities the reporters undertook in preparation for the News Day for real on 21 March.
Reporting on a wide range of topics including when to retire, how solar flares affect the electrical devices you just can’t live without and the discovery of Richard 3rd, the day culminated in a ‘live’ ten-minute News programme broadcast from the school’s state-of-the-art 4D hall to an invited audience; all of which went smoothly.
One things for sure, this practice gave learners plenty to think about in preparation for our News Day later next month.
