Bin compound set on fire
Date published: 05 February 2013
An elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a wheelie bin compound was deliberately set alight.
Crews from Rochdale Fire Station were called to Belfield Road in Rochdale at 9.46pm on Monday, February 4 after the fire spread to the property.
The fire involved three wheelie bins at the front of the flat, a PVC door and the timber bin room doors.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to fight the fire and a PPV fan to clear the smoke.
A woman in her 70s was given oxygen therapy by a fire service trauma technician but declined hospital treatment.
