My World at Matthew Moss

One of the ELLI (effective lifelong learning inventory) dimensions is critical curiosity.

Critical curiosity, or as our class called it “intelligent nosiness” is all about delving deeper by asking lots of questions to find more information.

When my class was learning about the ELLI dimensions, and critical curiosity popped up, our teacher brought in a box full of toys and gadgets.

Everyone was wondering what was in the box so straight away we were curious! Everyone was asking questions and being nosy.

We all got a toy or gadget each to examine and test to see what it did. We then talked about our toys and gadgets and asked each other questions and shared what we found out.

After that we selected another item from the box and did the same thing again but this time delving even deeper to find out what it was and how it operated.

It was a fun and enjoyable way to learn about critical curiosity. Being curious about things is good whether you are in lessons or outside of school because I really enjoy finding things out.

Over the next few weeks my classmates will be writing more about the other ELLI dimensions. By Millie Barry Year 7
