Unlicensed directors and CCTV operatives were found working illegally on Monday 28 January when Security Industry Authority investigators, acting on intelligence, targeted several CCTV businesses operating across northern England, including Rochdale.
During Operation Corvus eight CCTV premises in Rochdale, Brighouse, Darwen, Huddersfield, Leeds, Southport and Stockport were visited.
The SIA will continue with their line of enquiries regarding all the offences found, which may result in prosecutions.
SIA Head of Investigation, Neil Diamond said: “Operation Corvus was unusual as we targeted businesses and their employees. I am disappointed that we found such high levels of unlicensed personnel, which is unacceptable.
“Security staff can help to maintain public safety in our towns and cities. We need operatives and those deploying them to be trained, professional and SIA-licensed. Illegal working will not be tolerated.”
