A man was robbed at a house in Rochdale.

At around 10.10pm on Sunday 20 January 2013, three men knocked on the front door of a house on Oakfield Terrace. A man in his 50s opened the door and the three offenders forced their way passed him.

One man held a kitchen knife to the victim and demanded where the money was while the others searched upstairs. A woman in her 70s was in bed at the time.

The three offenders stole cash, a mobile phone and a handbag before leaving the property through the front door towards Falkland Avenue.

One offender is described as a 6ft 2in tall man of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing, a black scarf and a hood. The second offender is also described as a 6ft 2in tall man of slim build. He was wearing a black hooded top, dark blue baggy jeans and a beige scarf covering his face. The third offender, who was holding the knife, is described as around 5ft 8in tall and stocky. He was wearing a black hooded jumper and a brown scarf over his face.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the robbery to come forward.

Detective Constable Daniel Daly at Rochdale CID said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim in this robbery and we are now appealing for anyone with any information about it to get in touch. Alternatively, if anyone saw three men matching this description acting suspiciously in the area that evening please call police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111.
