Blue Peter
Some of our children have been chosen to appear on Blue Peter, live tomorrow night (31 January) at 5.45pm on CBBC. They will be making bird feeders and chatting about wildlife with Chris Packham who is a wildlife expert and Winter Watch presenter.

Castleton Children’s Centre
The ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ on Wednesday mornings have now finished due to a lack of demand.

Parents Evening
Parents evening is on Tuesday 12 February – 2.30-5.30pm. There is a slip on the back of the newsletter – please send your slip back as soon as possible and you will be allocated your appointment times.

Mums and Daughters Event – Open to Years 3 and 4
Make fabulous gifts for Valentines Day (Lip Balms, bath bombs, bath salts) Bring along your mum, auntie or your Gran!
There are 10 places (5 children with their mum/auntie/gran). The event is at Matthew Moss High School on February 13th 3.30pm-5pm.
If you are interested, please fill in the slip on the back of the newsletter and send back into school as soon as possible. We will pull names out of a hat as places are limited.

Sainsbury Vouchers
We are now collecting these vouchers.

Road Safety
Year 5 children have been learning about road safety with an officer from Rochdale Council. It will be the turn of Year 3 children on Monday.

Soccer Academy
S7 Multisports Academy will be holding a Fun Multisports Course at St Edwards Primary School in Rochdale during the upcoming February Holidays.
The event is open to boys and girls aged 4-12 and will run from 10am-3pm Monday 18th to Friday 22nd February 2013.
During the course children will take part in Fun Challenges / Competitions / Tournaments & Team Games in various sports including Football, Dodgeball, Cricket, Handball & Athletics.
All participants will receive a Certificate & Key ring. The cost is £7.50 per day or £35 for the full week.

Class Assemblies
This year we are inviting you to share your child’s class assembly. Assemblies will take approx 15mins.

Dates for this half term:
Tuesday 5 February 9.15am – 4P
Tuesday 12 February 9.15am – 3L
Tuesday 12 February 1.15pm – RP

Italian Themed Menu
On Thursday 14 February, the kitchen are having an Italian Day. The menu will be on next week’s newsletter.

Story Sacs - Reception
Don’t forget Story Sacs on a Tuesday at 2.30pm for Reception children and parents.

Dinner Money
Dinners are now £1.85 per day - £9.25 per week.
Money envelopes are on sale from the school office for £1.50.
Please note: Lunches MUST be paid for either at the beginning of the week or daily.
Next week we will be on Week 1 menu.

Music Lessons
Fees for this half term are now due - £14.25. Please pay these and any outstanding fees into school as soon as possible in order to continue with lessons. Thank you.

Up-to-date Mobile Numbers
We are continuing to use our text messaging service and in some cases, instead of sending letters out. Therefore it is extremely important that you ensure you keep school up-to-date with any change in mobile phone numbers.
If you have not received any texts from school, please inform school to check that we have the right mobile numbers.
