Hollingworth Business and Enterprise College

Date published: 30 January 2013

Thank you to staff, parents/carers and pupils who attended the Year 9 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 23 January. It was a very successful evening.

Congratulations to our rowing teams, they did Hollingworth proud in both the Rochdale Indoor Rowing and the Greater Manchester Championships. Their behaviour, individual determination and excellent team work led to fantastic results. Well done. A full report can be found on Rochdale Online News

For Years 7 and 8, the Maths Club will be on Tuesdays between 3pm and 4pm in Room 110. This week, we will have a crackin’ time designing and making a supportive basket to save an egg from splatting when dropped out the window. Here’s your challenge - can you beat it? If you are interested, please see Miss Lewis, Miss Stelfox or Mr Livesey for more information.

Junior Chef Club

Bury College are currently advertising a Junior Chef Club on Thursdays 6pm – 8pm from 11 April 2013. Any pupils interested in the Club, please feel free to collect a leaflet from any member of staff in the Food Technology department or Pupil Reception.

A Reminder To Both Parents/Carers And Pupils:

Illness: If your child feels unwell during school, they must report to the Pupil Reception with a note from their teacher. If it is necessary, school will contact the parents/carers.

Appointments:

If pupils are leaving school for any reason, i.e. a doctor’s or dental appointment, they must get a PINK SLIP from their Head of Year before signing out at Pupil Reception.

Mobile phones:

Must be switched off when the first bell goes and cannot be switched back on until pupils are off the school premises, (i.e. out of the green gates at the end of the drive). Pupils must not check their messages, or check the time; the phone must remain out of sight throughout the day otherwise it will be confiscated. If your child has their phone confiscated three times, it will not be returned to them and the parent/carer will have to come to the school to collect and sign for it.
