Yellow Weather Warning for today, Wednesday 30 January.
Winds increasing through today to become very gusty, particularly near heavy showers.
The public should be aware that there is the potential for some minor disruption to travel, particularly for high-sided vehicles.
This is an update to the warning issued yesterday to transfer the whole area northwards, to include much of northern England and remove the risk of significant disruption from southern England and South Wales.
Yellow Weather Warning for tomorrow, Thursday 31 January.
Westerly winds will increase on Thursday to produce gusts of 50-60mph, perhaps as high as 70mph on exposed coasts and hills.
Winds will peak across Northern Ireland in the morning with the greatest strength then transferring into northern England and southern Scotland by the afternoon.
Winds will then gradually ease across all areas during Thursday evening.
