Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 25 January 2013

On Wednesday the children in Year 3 and Year 4 visited Manchester Museum as part of their IPC topic “treasure”. For those parents who came to Mrs Smith’s class assembly they will have seen what an impact this topic has had on the children’s learning. The children had a fascinating time and their behaviour and attitude was outstanding.

It was great to welcome Newly Qualified Teacher Colleagues from the IPLCN Schools into our classrooms this week to share good practice. In addition, our own newly qualified teachers: Mrs Smith and Miss Ahmad also had the opportunity to visit other schools in the group.

Just a reminder that the Health Visitor will be at the coffee morning next Thursday the 31 January – please do come along from 9.00am to join us. The Health Visitor will be attending the coffee Morning so please feel free to come and have your weight and blood pressure checked!

Parents of the children in Year 5 who went to Robinwood will shortly be receiving a DVD with photos and video clips detailing the brilliant learning opportunities the children enjoyed.

The Citizens of the week are Mrs Smith’s class for excellent behaviour at dinner times whilst it has been indoor play. Thank you for all being very sensible and for being tidied up on time. Well done everybody!

On Thursday 31 January the Health Visitor will be attending the coffee Morning at school so please feel free to come and have your weight and blood pressure checked!!

A reminder that the Parents Zumba Class continues to be held in School at 11.30am every Monday. This class has been put on following requests from Parents. To ensure this class continues, please do come along and support us. The cost per session is £2.00.

Please ensure that all disabled bays are left for blue badge holders only. This is even more important during this cold weather where snow and ice is on the ground –Thank You . In addition please note there is no right turn from Calder Street back out down the main school drive., attempting to turn right here is dangerous and is causing issues for both pedestrians and other members of the community in their cars. Please work with us to keep our car park safe.
