Peter McGuire: Accidental death verdict

A bank manager was kicked in the head by a horse which became agitated in a horse box, an inquest was told.
Burnley Coroner Richard Taylor recorded an accidental death verdict on father-of-two Peter McGuire, 51, from Middleton.
He was fatally injured when he stopped his vehicle to try to calm the horse in Blackburn Road, Edenfield, Lancashire.
Mr McGuire, of Aylesbury Grove, was taking his teenage daughter to a show-jumping event on 31 October last year.
When paramedics arrived Mr McGuire was unconscious and trapped in the horse box with the horse.
A vet was called to sedate the animal and enable Mr McGuire to receive treatment but he died at the scene.
