Healey Foundation Primary School

Date published: 23 January 2013

The snowy week has been fun! The children are mostly well equipped for the weather although we have thousands of soggy gloves and socks hanging around.

Thank you to the parents who attended and supported Young Voices last week, the journey to the station went without hitch and the children were exceptionally well behaved throughout the long day. Thank you too for adhering to the collection arrangements.

Attendance in school has shot up to a fabulous 97.9%, hopefully all the bugs have gone and we can look forward to a good term. Once again, school WILL NOT close due to snow. A text alert went out on Monday morning informing parents school was open so if you did not receive it please let us know. We need the phone lines to stay clear for staff who may be delayed due to the adverse conditions.

Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award last week:

Reception: Megan Shaw
Year 1: Eesha Khan
Year 2: Troy Swanick
Year 3: Jessica Johnson & Jake Cooper
Year 4: Ellie Frost
Year 5: Ellie Jenkinson
Year 6: Sofia Riley & Lauren Banner

Next week on Wednesday afternoon Year 5 are being treated a performance of Hook’s Revenge at Whitworth High School. WHS are arranging transport for this and there is no cost to parents at all. Please be aware that the children could be a little bit late returning to school depending on traffic.

On Thursday Year 6 are going to Manchester to see a production of Goodnight Mr Tom at the Opera House. The children will again be walking down to take the train to Manchester and need to be picked up from Rochdale Station later on in the afternoon. We are still unable to predict what time we will catch the train back, but a text message will be sent out in the afternoon when the train time is known.

Letters will be sent out to parents who still owe for the Robinwood trip. All balances need to be paid by 25 February.
