Congratulations to our Boys’ Basketball Team, who have successfully defended their Rochdale Schools Champions title for the fifth year running. The team has qualified for the Greater Manchester County Finals, which will take place on Wednesday 30 January. Well done to Michael Moore, Joe Whitworth, Abdul Shahid, Ayub Majid, Usman Muhammed, Connor Fitton, Declan Goulding, Tom Smeeton, Callum Knox and Philip Joyce. Many thanks to all the staff who have helped train and support the team, especially Mr. Noon and Mr. Holt.

The Year 7 Girls’ Football Team will be playing Matthew Moss away on Tuesday 29 January. Good luck girls – we look forward to hearing about another successful performance.

Year 8 Options Evening will take place on Thursday 31 January from 6:00pm onwards. All Year 8 parents/carers should have received a letter with all the information relating to the evening. If you have any queries regarding the Options Evening please contact the school office.

Congratulations to Judith Yung and Georgie Terry, two of our Year 10 students, who have been selected as finalists in Bury College’s Masterchef Competition. The Grand Final Cook-Off takes place on Thursday 31st January at the Three Seasons Restaurant at Bury College. Good luck to Judith and Georgie.

On Saturday 19 January evening some of our Dancers performed in the prestigious Signatures Youth Dance Show Case at the Lowry Theatre in Salford. The pupils were amazing and after the performance the Director of Dance Initiative Greater Manchester said that the Oulder Hill piece was the best dance by far.

The school would like to congratulate all the dancers and Miss Bold for choreographing the wonderful piece. The dancers who took part in the performance were: Erin Garvey – Y8, Emma Linaker – Y8, Aleesha Begum – Y8, Saroish Afzal – Y8, Courtney Hubbard – Y8, Jessica Harrison – Y8, Leah-Jade Marsden – Y8, Lani Knox – Y8, Zainab Ahmed – Y8, Megan Hamer – Y10, Shannon Buckley – Y10, Charlie Robinson – Y10, Ben Scott – Y10, Jade Lindsay – Y11

Some of our Year 9 students will be taking part in a Forensic Science Masterclass on Tuesday 29 January. More details will follow in due course.
