Sixth Form College introduces smart phone app

Date published: 18 January 2013

Rochdale Sixth Form College has launched a new smart phone app – allowing potential and existing students to find out more about A Level courses, keep up-to-date with the latest College news, and experience an augmented reality in the new 2013 prospectus.

The college’s new app brings the college experience to life using augmented reality – a type of virtual reality that makes 3D images appear to jump out of the prospectus when a reader hovers their smart phone over selected pages.

Julian Appleyard, Principal at Rochdale Sixth Form College said: “We really recognise the importance of communicating with our students, and prospective students, through tools they commonly use. We’re always keen to be at the forefront of technology, and hope this app makes it that little bit easier for students to find out more about the college.”

The app is available to download for free.
