Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 18 January 2013

Thank you for the support last week ensuring that all the children were picked up promptly on return from their trip to Robinwood. We have all enjoyed hearing about the brilliant experiences that the children had enjoyed and we are sure that they will never forget the experience.

Our collaborative RE Project continues to develop with the children and staff in Year 4 at St Joseph’s. We are looking forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues back to Hamer next Thursday. Our visit to St Joseph’s this week went very well and provided a great opportunity for further collaborative learning with children from a different Community.

All the children in Year 3 and Year 4 will be visiting Manchester Museum next Wednesday 23rd January as part of their IPC topic ‘Treasure’.

Once again – thank you for the supporting us to ensure that the children are wearing plain white t-shirts or polo shirts and plain black shorts/tracksuit bottoms for PE.

Please ensure that the children are coming to school in warm coats whilst the weather is so cold. Hooded tops/tracksuit tops are not warm enough as the children are still playing out at playtimes/dinner times. Hats, scarves and gloves are also sensible accessories at this time of year.

For the children who are coming to school in wellies to ensure that their feet stay dry please send a pair of shoes into school for them to change into, this avoids children having to wear wellies inside school for the whole of the day. Thank you.

The Citizens of the week are Year 5 for outstanding behaviour and for pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones whilst at Robinwood. Well done everybody.

On Thursday 31 January the Health Visitor will be attending the coffee Morning at school so please feel free to come and have your weight and blood pressure checked!!

A reminder that the Parents Zumba Class continues to be held in School at 11.30am every Monday. This class has been put on following requests from Parents. To ensure this class continues, please do come along and support us. The cost per session is £2.00.
