Bothered about Birch? Give us your views

Are you bothered about the future of Birch?
As part of its responsibility for identifying and preserving sites of historical or architectural interest in the borough, the council’s Planning team wants your views on proposals to make this special location a conservation area.
A draft appraisal report summarising the unique character of this community is now available for members of the public to view.
Birch’s legacy results from the strong association with the renowned architect Edgar Wood, the evidence of which still survives today.
Comments on the full draft appraisal can be made online or be sent to Christina Sinclair, Floor 1, Telegraph House, Baillie Street, Rochdale, OL16 1JH or at christina.sinclair@rochdale.gov.uk
The closing date for comments is 11 February.
Views will be reported to township committee where a final decision on the conservation area will be made.
