Consumers warned over .co.uk web scams

Trading standards officers at Rochdale Borough Council are warning the public to be on their guard against websites that try to mislead them into believing they are buying goods from a UK company, when the supplier is actually based overseas.

In a recent case, a Rochdale consumer purchased designer clothing from what he thought was a UK website. The items were subsequently delivered from China and turned out to be counterfeit.
