Joshua Thompson found and detained under the mental health act

A missing mental health patient wanted in connection with a sexual assault in Greater Manchester has been found, police confirmed.

Joshua Thompson, 22, went missing from Prestwich Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient, on 27 December.

Police said they wanted to speak to him about an assault on a 19-year-old woman at a flat on Milnrow Road, Rochdale, later on 27 December.

He has been detained under the mental health act, officers said.
