Flood
The Upper Irwell catchment includes the Rivers Beal, Roch and Croal, Limey Water and their tributaries. Other locations which may be affected are around Farnworth, Whitefield, Little Lever, Radcliffe, Bury, Heywood, Whitworth and Bacup.
Latest Information:
Heavy rainfall is expected on Saturday(22/12/12) from the early hours until around midday. With lighter rain forecast throughout the rest of the day. As a result river levels are expected to rise in the Upper Irwell catchment. There is a potential for flooding of low lying land, roads and surface water flooding. The environment agency will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates accordingly.
